A few snaps taken at the diaconal ordination of Edward Houghton yesterday. It was a particular delight for us, as during the Mass the Cardinal announced that Edward would be serving his diaconate year at the Cathedral.
Edward is from Preston, Lancashire, and his brother, who is a priest in Lancaster diocese, concelebrated at this Mass.
The seminary put on a fine show; notable this year was the Schola (pictured below in the apse) who sang superbly, conducted by our very own former Cathedral intern Edward Henley.
