The Good Shepherd Mass

Taken about half an hour before the annual Mass for schoolchildren, organised by the Cathedral and the Catholic Children's Society. As ever, it is breathtaking to see the nave without chairs, and it is a delight to see it filled with children. Coaches were drawing up outside the Cathedral continually, and the Piazza was abuzz with excited groups. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Longley, who was joined - an unexpected delight - by a retired Ugandan Bishop.

I was at the spirituality centre day and popped in at the time of the preparation of the gifts. It was most impressive to see so many children sitting so quietly!
