London Byzantine

Early morning light casts the shadow of the chandeliers - modelled on byzantine orginals - across a nave pier.

I have always thought the chandeliers remarkably reminiscent of a cardinal's galero- is this merely a felicitous coincidence?

Interesting - but the shape of the chandeliers ante-dates Cardinals' galeros by some centuries. They are modelled on the chandeliers in Byzantine churches, like Haghia Sophia, where the light bulbs would have been little oil containers.
