The College of Chaplains 1995

The college was photographed 0n 29 June 1995, the centenary of the foundation of the Cathedral. We are wearing the summer cappas, and there are a few familiar faces! Notable, also, are two of our Portuguese sisters:

I remember the wonderful Mass that day to celebrate the Centenary. If my memory serves me correctly the combined choirs of Westminster Cathedral, Westminster Abbey & St Paul's Cathedral took part. It was the first time I had seen them perform together.

What is the color of the cappae? It looks kind of mauvish-greyish. Is that because it is a photo or do they look like that in daylight as well? And does the color have a proper name? Just curious...
