Apologies for the gaps in postings; these are due to illness, and I will have to take some time off to recover.

That's a fantastic photo. The light in the Cathedral at certain times of the day is really magical, particularly with such large expanses of wall to act as a canvas. It makes you wonder how that same photo would look with mosaic rather than bare brick.

I very much like reading your blog. I knew nothing about Byzantine church architecture until I began reading your blog. The photos you post of the cathedral are poetic in their simplicity.
