Congratulations, Fr Kingsley and Fr Edward

Today we had an opportunity to celebrate in Clergy House the priestly ordinations of Fr Kinsley Arulananthem and Fr Edward Houghton, last weekend. Both are of particular joy for the Cathedral; Fr Kingsley has been posted to the Cathedral, and moved into Clergy House this weekend. Fr Edward has been deacon with us for the past year, and will remain with us for the summer, until moving to his new appointment at Chiswick.

For the occasion, Sister Mericia delighted us again with an extraordinary cake - all set up ready for Mass!

It is particularly fitting that this joyful occasion should be one of my last postings, before the blog concludes next week. Please keep both Fr Kinsley and fr Edward in your prayers.

Dear Mgr
It has been a great joy to be a regular reader of your blog. As a great admirer of the liturgical and musical life of your astonishing cathedral, the blog makes me fill as visiting it much more often that I usually do (not more than once or twice a year, as I need to travel from abroad). I wish you all the best for your new position and I hope the new administrator will continue to keep us updated with the highs and downs of Westminster's daily life.

Well, I was hoping this wonderful blog would go on for just a bit longer. It's been a joy to keep up with one of my favorite and most special places, even when I can't visit. I wish you well, wherever you're off to next and I hope the blog will stay up for a while so I can take a last look at the beautiful photos. BTW, has Sr thought about going into the cake making business?! Her creations are beautiful.

The creator of that masterpiece cake deserves international recognition. I wonder if other sees have such talent. We should set up a competition :-)
